Patna Hospital Shooting: Police Release Photos Of Armed Assailants Seen On Bike Moments Before Chandan Mishra's Murder

Patna: In a major development in the Paras HMRI Hospital shooting case, the police released CCTV images of the accused, captured moments before the attack.

One of the men can be seen riding a motorbike with a gun in his hand, just metres from the hospital entrance.

The visuals, now circulating widely on social media, were recorded near the hospital premises shortly before the fatal shooting of Chandan Mishra, a murder accused who was out on parole. The attackers fled the scene within moments, but investigators believe the footage will prove crucial in tracing their escape route and identifying others involved.

Mishra Was Shot Dead Inside Hospital Lobby

The broad daylight shooting occurred on Thursday morning (July 17) when five armed men stormed the hospital and opened fire on Chandan Mishra, a resident of the Buxar district. He died on the spot. Chandan was reportedly out on parole for medical treatment when he was attacked.

One of the accused has already been arrested, while the remaining four have been identified. Police suspect the attackers are associated with a local real estate firm and have a history of criminal activities.

A viral video from inside the hospital shows the assailants entering the lobby, weapons drawn, before fleeing just seconds after the attack. No hospital staff or other patients were injured during the incident.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma confirmed, “Chandan was on parole and admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment. The rival gang shot him… We are identifying the members of the rival gang. We have the photographs of the shooters.”

The attack comes on the heels of another violent episode in Patna’s Ranitalab area, where a man named Suraj Kumar was injured in police firing while attempting to escape custody.
