Marathon world record-holder Ruth Chepngetich suspended over doping violation

Ruth Chepngetich, the Kenyan marathon world record-holder, faces a provisional suspension after testing positive for hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), a banned diuretic and masking agent. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced the suspension following Chepngetich's voluntary ban in April. Her record-breaking performance at the Chicago Marathon last October is now under scrutiny, pending a disciplinary hearing.
