CBD Police Register Case After Multiple Bomb Threat Calls Target Mumbai Airport And Ahmedabad Flight
Navi Mumbai: The CBD police have registered a case against an unidentified person for issuing bomb threats related to a Mumbai-to-Ahmedabad flight and Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The caller made repeated threats early Thursday morning, triggering panic across the Navi Mumbai Police Department.
According to officials, the accused made 14 to 15 calls to the reader’s offices of both the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner and Additional Police Commissioner. "The caller first claimed that a bomb had been planted on a flight bound for Ahmedabad. Shortly afterward, similar calls were made from another mobile number, threatening a blast at Mumbai airport," an officer said.
The repeated threats created alarm within the police force and prompted an immediate investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the calls were intended to disturb public peace and spread fear among citizens.
Following standard procedure, police have alerted airport authorities and other relevant departments to remain vigilant. A case has been registered under relevant sections, and efforts are underway to trace the mobile numbers used to issue the threats.
