Software engineer ‘detained’ for sending threat emails to Golden Temple
Amritsar Police have detained a software engineer in connection with a series of threatening emails sent to blow up the Golden Temple here.
The suspect has been identified as Shubham Dubey, a resident of Faridabad.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar termed it a “partial success” and said that Dubey was taken into custody for questioning. His laptop and mobile phones have been seized and sent for forensic examination.

Since July 14, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has received around six threatening emails to blow up the Golden Temple. In response, police have intensified security measures in and around the temple.
Bhullar added that central agencies were also involved in the probe. He said the suspect was associated with multiple software companies.
Further investigation is underway.
