'She Wanted To Die, I Killed Her,' Man Tells Cops After Poisoning Ex-Live-In Partner To Death In UP's Lalitpur

A man killed his ex-live-in partner after their breakup by poisoning her in Uttar Pradesh's Lalitpur. The accused, Jagdesh Raikwar, had Googled how to kill his lover before spiking her drink with poison and dumping her body in a river.

The police got hold of the man while he was planning his escape. The remorseless accused told police that he killed her because she wanted to die.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Rani, was in a relationship with Jagdesh and they lived in a rented house in Lalitpur.

According to police, a fight between Rani and Jagdesh took place after the accused's marriage was fixed with someone else. Rani, who had left her husband to live with Jagdesh, objected to his proposal that he wanted his wife-to-be and Rani to live together. After this, the victim left Jagdesh to live with another man in Madhya Pradesh's Ashok Nagar, an angered Jagdesh searched online for ways to kill his lover and finally chose the poisoning option.

Jagdesh invited Rani and spiked her drink with poison. After she became unconscious, he strangled her to death.

Later, he dumped the victim's body in the Shahzad river in a blue sack. A local fisherman found a blue sack floating in the river and alerted the police.

Police found Rani's body in a decomposed state, making it difficult for cops to identify her. Then police saw 'R-Jagdesh' written on the woman's hand, which helped them identify the woman.
