Udupi senior citizen duped of Rs 1.59 lakh while trying to cancel online subscription

Lokanath Bangera, a senior citizen from Kutpadi, became a victim of cyber fraud. He was trying to cancel his Jio Hotstar subscription. Bangera searched for a helpline number on Google. The fraudster obtained his Google Pay details. Rupees 99,500 and 60,000 were fraudulently transferred from his accounts. Udupi police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
