Donald Trump wants Washington Commanders to be Washington Redskins again. He also wants Cleveland Guardians to bring back Cleveland Indians name. Trump posted on Truth Social on July 20, 2025. He says it honors Native Americans. Both teams changed names earlier due to criticism. Owners of both teams have no plans to change names.
