Resolve Narwal Market deadlock

Sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw urgent attention to the distressing impasse at Jammu’s Narwal Fruit and Vegetable Market. For decades, genuine allottees have been denied possession of shops due to bureaucratic delays and interdepartmental blame games. Despite the court’s affirmation and departmental acknowledgment, no progress has been made.
This is not mere administrative inefficiency—it is a humanitarian crisis affecting hundreds of families whose livelihoods depend on these shops. Lease renewals are also stalled, crippling access to financial support. The inaction reflects a disturbing lack of accountability.
The government must stop treating this as a routine file movement and act decisively to resolve the issue. Justice delayed here is not only unjust—it is economically and morally devastating. Immediate possession and lease regularisation must be ensured to uphold justice and protect livelihoods.
