Sonepat incubation centre inks pact with solar energy institute

In a push towards accelerating green energy innovation in India, IIT-Delhi’s Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) in Sonepat and the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) in Gurugram have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The partnership aims to support start-ups, researchers, and innovators working in the renewable energy sector by offering them technical, financial, and mentoring support.

The MoU signing ceremony was presided over by Nikhil Agrawal, Managing Director, Foundation for Innovation Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT-Delhi, in the presence of Mohammad Rihan, Director General, NISE. Agrawal described the collaboration as “a strong foundation for empowering India’s energy future”.

Alok Pandey, CEO, AIC; Avadhesh Yadav, Deputy Director General, NISE; Vikrant Yadav, Deputy Director (Technical), NISE; and Himanshu Agrawal, Assistant Manager, AIC, were among those present at the event.

Agrawal said, “FITT and IIT-Delhi have always endeavoured to apply technology for societal and environmental good. This partnership will not only deepen the culture of innovation in Haryana but also accelerate India’s journey toward its net-zero goals.”

The AIC CEO talked about the potential impact of the collaboration on local talent, and said the MoU would open up new opportunities for youngsters in Haryana, especially in Sonepat.

Start-ups would benefit from co-incubation, industry access, and expert guidance — all on a single platform, he added.
