Stress management session at Palampur agri varsity
A special session on ‘Stress and its Management’ was organised at the Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in Palampur on Sunday, drawing participation from undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD scholars. The event was hosted under the guidance of student welfare officer AD Bindra, who welcomed the guests and attendees, emphasising the importance of addressing student mental health through open dialogue and expert-led initiatives.
Dr Sannju Gambhir delivered an insightful keynote, highlighting the difference between healthy and harmful stress. She presented real-life student scenarios to explain practical coping strategies, including the 4-7-8 breathing technique, journaling, etc., to help students manage anxiety and improve focus. She also guided students through a brief mindfulness exercise, leaving the audience more grounded and self-aware.
In his message, Vice-Chancellor Naveen Kumar addressed the growing mental health challenges in academic life. Kumar encouraged students to adopt time-tested techniques such as time management, mindfulness and peer support to handle stress constructively.
Chief guest RK Asrani, librarian at the university, applauded the initiative, urging academic institutions to embed mental wellness into the educational framework.
