SECMOL defeats Ladakh Women Polo Asso

LEH, July 20: As part of the ongoing 4th CEC Cup Polo Tournament 2025, a spirited friendly polo match was held between SECMOL and the Ladakh Women Polo Association at Polo Ground, Shagaran, Chuchot, Leh. The event aimed to celebrate Ladakh’s traditional sport of polo while promoting youth engagement and women’s participation in the game.
The occasion was graced by Bhanu Prabha, Administrative Secretary, Education, UT Ladakh, as the chief guest and Mirza Hussain, Councillor, Chuchot, as the guest of honour. A vibrant cultural programme preceded the match, showcasing traditional Ladakhi music and dance, delighting the large gathering of local spectators and international tourists.
In an energetic contest, SECMOL emerged victorious with a 5-1 win over the Ladakh Women Polo Association. The match served not only as a sporting event but also as a celebration of Ladakhi heritage and inclusivity in sports. Prominent personalities in attendance included Tsering Tashi, DYSSO Leh; Nasreen Maryam, President, Anjuman Imamia Women Wing; Kunzes Dolma, President, Ladakh Buddhist Association Women Wing; and Aisha Malo, President, Women Wing of Anjuman-e-Moin-ul-Islam (AMI), Leh.
The event concluded with cheers, applause, and a renewed commitment to promoting traditional sports among youth and women in Ladakh.
