Saiyaara Box Office Report Day 3: Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda's Film Records Impressive ₹83 Crore Opening Weekend
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Bollywood debut Saiyaara has taken the box office by storm, collecting a massive Rs 83 crore in its first weekend. On Sunday (July 20), the film added Rs 37 crore to its total, making it one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2025 so far.
Saiyaara's impressive box office report
According to a report in Sacnilk, Saiyaara has exceeded all industry expectations, registering an impressive 71.18 per cent occupancy in Hindi-speaking regions on Day 3. The film witnessed a surge in footfalls during evening shows, with occupancy rates touching 79.32 per cent and even 88.15 per cent in several key locations.
It now ranks among the top five Bollywood opening weekends of 2025, trailing behind big-budget releases like Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava (Rs 121.43 crore), Housefull 5 (Rs 91.83 crore), and Sikandar (Rs 86.44 crore).
Saiyaara sets new benchmark
The film has also set a new benchmark for debutant-led Bollywood films, delivering the biggest-ever opening day and weekend collection for a movie starring newcomers in lead roles. With this, Saiyaara has outperformed director Mohit Suri's previous hits like Ek Villain (Rs 16 crore opening) and Aashiqui 2 (Rs 6.1 crore opening).
Notably, Saiyaara has already surpassed the lifetime domestic collections of Student of the Year (Rs 70 crore) and is inching closer to beating Dhadak (Rs 95.12 crore). Both of these films were known for launching new talents like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter.
With strong word-of-mouth, star power from its debutants, and consistent audience interest, Saiyaara is on track for a blockbuster run in the weeks ahead.
Saiyaara fever
Saiyaara has emerged as an unexpected hit and that too without the blitz of promotional gimmicks or back-to-back interviews. This has come at a time when Bollywood has been struggling to draw audiences to theatres.
A key factor behind the film's soaring popularity is its music. Audiences have also drawn strong comparisons between Saiyaara and Mohit's earlier romantic hit Aashiqui 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, a film that holds cult status among millennials.
The response to the film been so overwhelming that theatres across the country are running to packed houses. Several national cinema chains have added early morning and even midnight shows to accommodate the growing demand.
About Saiyaara
The film features Ahaan as Krish Kapoor, an aspiring singer, and Aneet Padda as Vaani Batra, a former singer who has turned lyricist and writes songs for Krish. Circumstances bring them together to collaborate on a song, and soon, love blossoms between them.
