Donald Trump Shares AI-Generated Video Of Barack Obama's Arrest Without Disclaimer, Sparks Outrage Over 'Irresponsible' Post
Washington: US President Donald Trump courted controversy again on Monday, July 21, after he posted an AI-generated video depicting former US President Barack Obama getting arrested by FBI agents in the Oval office.
The video, shared on Trump's social media platform Truth Social, lacked any disclaimer indicating that the clip was fictional and artificially generated, inviting backlash from political critics.
AI Video Shows Obama in Handcuffs
The digitally manipulated clip opens with Obama saying, "especially the President is above the law", followed by a montage of various US leaders asserting, "no one is above the law."
The scene then cuts to a fabricated sequence of Obama being handcuffed by two FBI agents, inside the very room he once presided over as President. Donald Trump is shown sitting and smiling during the supposed "arrest."

The video ends with the image of Obama clad in a standard-issue orange prison jumpsuit, standing inside a jail cell. Trump's post reignited concerns over maintaining ethical boundaries with the usage of artificial intelligence. Many labelled the act "deeply irresponsible", citing the potential for public confusion and spreading misinformation.
Accusations of Election Fraud Resurface as Gabbard Makes Explosive Claim
The video release comes just after the statements of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who claimed she possesses “striking” and “overwhelming” evidence implicating former Obama officials in fabricating the Trump-Russia collusion narrative after the 2016 election.
In an X post, Gabbard called for a trial of the former administration, alleging a years-long effort to “subvert the will of the American people.”
However, a 114-page report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) presented a different picture. The document concluded that, prior to the 2016 election, Russia was “probably not trying to influence the election by using cyber means,” and that its cyber activities “did not impact recent US election results.”
