Mumbai: The 'City of Dreams', Mumbai, along with its suburbs, has been facing significant rainfall since early Monday morning, resulting in waterlogging in numerous places, including Andheri, which affected travel to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Flight Operations Take Hit

Flight operations were disrupted, prompting airlines to advise passengers to check flight statuses and arrive early. SpiceJet warned that all departures and arrivals might be affected due to the severe weather conditions, urging passengers to verify their flight information via their website.

Similarly, IndiGo issued a travel advisory, advising passengers to plan their commute in advance due to slow-moving traffic caused by the downpour, encouraging them to leave earlier and check flight statuses before departure.

The airlines expressed understanding of the difficulties posed by the weather, assuring passengers that ground teams were prepared to assist and maintain operations as smoothly as possible.

The Andheri subway was shut down because of flooding, resulting in delays for passengers going to the airport. Terrifying images of the waterlogging are circulating on social media as residents express their frustration with BMC's negligence regarding the roads.
