Monsoon Session Chaos: Opposition Storms Lok Sabha Demanding Debate On Operation Sindhur
The Monsoon Session of the Indian Parliament began on a stormy note, with tributes paid to several former Lok Sabha members who passed away recently, including Kishan Kapoor, Kumari Ananthan, Girija Vyas, Minati Sen, and Sukhdev Singh Libra. The Lok Sabha observed a somber start before chaos broke out over the Opposition’s demand for an immediate discussion on Operation Sindhur, India's high-profile military mission. As soon as Question Hour began, Congress and other Opposition MPs stormed the Well of the House, raising slogans like “We want justice,” demanding Prime Minister Modi address the House directly on the Sindhur operation and Donald Trump’s controversial fighter jet remarks. Despite appeals from the Speaker to allow Question Hour and follow parliamentary procedure, the uproar persisted.Sources within the Opposition indicate that since PM Modi is expected to travel abroad soon, they want him to clarify these matters in Parliament before leaving. The Speaker assured that the government is willing to debate all issues post Question Hour, but the Opposition remained adamant. Consequently, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until 12 PM due to the continued ruckus. The coming hours are expected to be equally heated as political strategy intensifies on both sides.
