Qualcomm Unveils ‘XR Day’ in India to Drive the Future of Spatial Computing with Snapdragon

New Delhi, July 21, 2025 Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has launched one of this size, called Snapdragon for India XR Day as it seeks to drive the uptake of spatial computing in India. It saw the gathering of developers together with the creators, industry gurus, and media to discuss the real-life application of extended reality (XR) in the sectors of entertainment, fitness, education, and content creation.

Illustrating its dominance in the world market, Qualcomm disclosed that its Snapdragon XR platforms have so far been adapted in more than 100+ MR, VR and AR devices. These platforms offer more precise features of mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) experiences and visibly represent how AI and spatial computing have revolutionized the engagement with digital content.

A highlight example was a small language model (SLM) that could run on entirely artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart glasses, which indicated how Snapdragon chipsets can readily integrate AI on cloud, local, and on-device levels. The other feature of the event was the collaboration between Qualcomm and Lenskart to create intelligent eyewear that is meant to be used by the Indian consumers.

Speaking on the importance of India in the global immersive tech ecosystem and the aligniveness on this innovation to the Viksit Bharat vision were Savi Soin, President of Qualcomm India. The spatial computing move by Qualcomm is bound to change industries, including frontline healthcare, remote education, and digital access.

As Qualcomm is diversifying beyond smartphones, its Snapdragon platforms could become relevant as part of the development of the future of smart, connected, and welcoming technology experiences in India.
