‘Saiyaara’ weekend box office collection: Love conquers in India as Ahaan-Aneet starrer exceeds expectation

In an age where action-packed films dominate the big screens, Saiyaara has exceeded expectations. While the romance genre is not generally associated with high footfall in theatres in recent years, Saiyaara comes as a welcome surprise. The film, helmed by Mohit Suri, dominated the Indian box office over the past weekend, despite being led by two debutant actors—Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film raked up Rs 21.5 crore on opening day. Saturday’s collection saw a slight hop up to Rs 26 crore, followed by an impressive leap on Sunday when the film minted Rs 35.75 crore. This brings the film’s total weekend earnings in India to a staggering Rs 83 crore—an exceptional figure for a romantic film.
According to reports, the film has also caught attention overseas, bringing the worldwide collection of the film to Rs 117 crore. This means that Saiyaara is rapidly approaching the lifetime collections of 2025 releases Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat, both of which earned Rs 144.35 crore and Rs 119.24 crore respectively.

The film also marks one of Suri’s most successful films. Known for dabbling in the romance genre, Saiyaara crosses Aashiqui 2—one of his most lauded films—in opening day collections.
