LIC employees hold conference, elect new body

JAMMU, July 21: The 15th conference of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA) Srinagar Division, representing LIC employees of J&K, was held here today.
Naveen Chand, general secretary NZIEA, Northern Zone was chief guest and Anupama Sachdev, assistant treasurer NZIEA and Raghunandan Parsad, secretary NZIEA were guests of honour.
The conference was presided over by Syed Aadil Imam, president NZIEA Srinagar Division. Report for the conference was presented by Pawan Gupta, divisional secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen Chand demanded immediate recruitment of class 3 and 4 cadre in LIC.
On this occasion demands to scrap NPS was raised along with the demand of withdrawal of four new Labour Codes.
It was resolved to oppose FDI hike in insurance sector to 100 per cent and also to oppose Insurance Laws’ Amendment Bill.
The members decided to oppose privatization of public sector particularly LIC and demanded MSP to farmers.
On this occasion, the new Divisional Committee was unanimously elected with president as Syed Aadil Imam; secretary, Pawan Gupta; vice presidents, Dinesh Kumar Sharma and Amarjeet Singh; joint secretaries, Rajesh Gupta, Ajaz Ahmad Dar and Rajesh Kumar; treasurer, Raj Kumar; assistant treasurer, Rohula Fayaz; auditors, Mohan Lal and Gulshan Singh and office secretaries, Harkesh Singh and M.Y Koul.
