Canada city to honour Komagata Maru Indians with ‘Guru Nanak Jahaz Remembrance Day’

The city of Surrey in British Columbia, Canada, has declared July 23 as 'Guru Nanak Jahaz Remembrance Day' to commemorate the 111th anniversary of the Komagata Maru incident. This honors the 352 Indian passengers who were denied entry at Vancouver port in 1914.
