Netflix greenlights 'All of Us Are Dead' Season 2: Get ready for more zombie mayhem!

The second season of Korean zombie thriller series All of Us Are Dead is officially in production, Netflix has announced, with a video announcing the same.

Also, a coming-of-age and survival drama rolled into one, the show, launched in 2022, followed the story of teens at a high school joining hands to battle a zombie outbreak, which they realise is bigger than every other problem, petty or otherwise, they encountered before.

The new season will see the return of original cast members Park Ji-hu (playing Nam On-jo), Yoon Chan-young (Lee Cheong-san), Cho Yi-hyun (Choi Nam-ra), and Lomon (Lee Su-Hyeok). Fresh cast members include Lee Min-jae ("Weak Hero: Class 2"), Kim Si-eun ("Squid Game" Season 2), Roh Jae-won ("Squid Game" Seasons 2 and 3), and Yoon Ga-i.

Roh Jae-won has been cast in the role of a team leader working for the National Intelligence Service.

Season 2 will see the characters dealing with a new zombie outbreak while coming to terms with the aftermath of the last one. With new threats and emotional challenges for the characters to deal with, the new story is expected to amp up the stakes a notch higher than the last.

Lee JQ, who directed Season 1 and another Netflix series, Daily Dose of Sunshine, returns to direct the new season, along with co-creators Kim Nam-su and Chun Sung-il.

The first season was an instant hit. Based on a webtoon by Joo Dong-geun, it found its place on Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched non-English series of all time. And since the zombie genre has once again become part of pop culture discussions on social media after the success of the recently released Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later, and considering the popularity of the other Netflix Korean series Kingdom, it's only natural that the platform decided to greenlight a new season.
