Anupam Kher’s ‘Tanvi the Great’ gets tax-free release in Madhya Pradesh

Anupam Kher's latest directorial is getting all the love in India after its international debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Tanvi the Great, the story of a resilient girl on the autism spectrum, has been winning hearts, including that of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

On Tuesday, Yadav announced that the film was going to be made tax-free in the state. The declaration comes after the CM watched the film with Kher, who also stars in it. "Today in Bhopal, I got the opportunity to watch his film Tanvi The Great with famous actor and director Anupam Kher. I announce to make the film tax-free in Madhya Pradesh," Yadav said, according to PTI.
Yadav described it as a "touching" film dedicated to the "struggle, determination and dreams of an autistic girl". The politician believes that the film will promote a more sensitive and caring eye from the public towards specially-abled children.

Tanvi the Great’s lead actress, Shubhangi Dutt, who played the titular role, was present with Kher along with child actor Viraj Aggarwal. CM Yadav congratulated Kher for making a "film with a great purpose".
About ‘Tanvi the Great’
Tanvi, an autistic girl, stays with her grandfather to learn music, but sudden memories of her ex-Indian army father, who passed away in action, resurface, motivating her to join the Indian army and fulfil his dream of saluting the Indian flag at Siachen Glacier. Directed and led by Anupam Kher, the film also features Shubhangi Dutt, Iain Glen, Boman Irani, and Jackie Shroff.
