13th High Level Meeting Between Indian Coast Guard And Korea Coast Guard At New Delhi, 21 Jul 25

The 13th High Level Meeting (HLM) between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Korea Coast Guard (KCG) was held in New Delhi on 21 July 2025. The meeting was led by Director General S Paramesh, AVSM, PTM, TM, Director General, Indian Coast Guard, and Commissioner General KIM Yong Jin, Commissioner General, Korea Coast Guard, who is on an official visit to India from 20–24 July 2025 as the head of a five-member delegation.

Discussions during the meeting centred on strengthening operational cooperation in key areas such as Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR), Pollution Response (PR), and Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE). Both sides reiterated the importance of sharing best practices, enhancing interoperability, and sustaining regular personnel exchanges under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two agencies in 2006.

As part of the visit, the KCG delegation will also travel to Mumbai from 23–24 Jul 25, where they are scheduled to undertake an industrial visit to M/s Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and Indian Coast Guard patrol vessel, further reinforcing maritime industrial and operational linkages.

The meeting provided fresh momentum to the enduring and professional relationship between the two Coast Guards and reaffirmed their joint commitment to promoting maritime safety, security, and environmental protection in the region.
