Thane: New Video Surfaces In Kalyan Clinic Assault Case; Receptionist Seen Slapping Accused’s Sister-in-Law Before Brutal Attack
Thane: A new video has surfaced in the shocking Kalyan clinic assault case, shedding additional light on the incident that unfolded on the evening of July 21. The latest footage shows the receptionist, who was earlier reported to have been brutally attacked, slapping the accused Gopal Jha’s sister-in-law during a confrontation at the clinic.
This second video has added a new dimension to the incident, which initially gained public outrage after CCTV footage showed Gopal Jha violently attacking the receptionist at a private hospital in the Nandivali area of Kalyan. The attack reportedly occurred after the receptionist denied him entry to see the doctor, who was attending to another patient at the time.
The initial video showed Gopal Jha punching the woman, dragging her by the hair, and repeatedly assaulting her. The receptionist sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Janaki Hospital. Dr. Moin Sheikh, who is overseeing her care, reported injuries on her neck, legs, and chest, with concerns that she may suffer from partial paralysis due to the extent of the trauma.
The accused, identified as Gopal Jha, is known to have a prior criminal record. Prompt action by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders Deputy Mayor Yogesh Gavanhe and Deepak Karande led to Jha’s capture in the Newali area of Ambernath. He was handed over to the Manpada Police Station in Dombivli for further investigation.
Ranjit Jha, the brother of Gokul, has also been taken into custody. Gokul has a prior record involving robbery and assault cases in the Kolshewadi area of Ulhasnagar, Kalyan. He is also accused of extorting money from local hawkers. Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Zende stated that further questioning will be carried out to ensure the accused receive proper punishment after their appearance in the Kalyan court.
