Wisconsin student Eliotte Heinz missing: Search day 4, mother seeks public’s help
As the desperate hunt for her 22-year-old daughter continues into a fourth day, the mother of Eliotte Heinz, a missing graduate student from Wisconsin, said she is clinging to hope. Eliotte left a pub in La Crosse, Wisconsin, early on Sunday morning and disappeared.
Amber Heinz told Fox News Digital, “We’re all just trying to stay positive and get her home.” That is what we are concentrating on. We are hoping for the best, which is that Eliotte will return to us and carry on with her adventure as she develops into the wonderful person she is.
Timeline of disappearance
Eliotte, a student in the mental health counseling program at Viterbo University, had spent Saturday evening at the Bronco Bar in downtown La Crosse with some friends. On Sunday, she exited the bar around 2:30 a.m.
She was last seen walking close to the Mississippi River waterfront about an hour later, according to surveillance footage. The bar is roughly a half-hour’s walk away.
‘We talk all the time’
When the family couldn’t get in touch with Eliotte later that morning, Amber Heinz told the news site, they were worried right away.
“Sunday morning, we tried to reach her, and we were unable to get a hold of her,” she said. “We talk all the time. We talked to her that week. We were texting back and forth, but on Sunday morning when we couldn’t get a hold of her, we knew that something was going on.”
Community joins the search
According to the news outlet, police and volunteers are still searching the region along the river and the adjacent neighborhoods, while Eliotte’s loved ones have been actively disseminating missing person fliers throughout the city.
According to the news site, Amber stated, “We’re just really letting the police department focus on their job here right now and just trying to get her picture out there.” That is the reason we are here. Eliotte is our priority, and we will do all in our power to get her home.
University and family issue appeal
A Facebook post from the Heinz family thanked the community for its overwhelming support, as shared by Viterbo University. The need of posting Eliotte’s picture and details on social media was emphasized in the letter.
The family stated, “The most crucial thing you can do is keep posting information about Eliotte on social media.”
Residents in the vicinity of the last known location are also being asked by the family to examine any security or doorbell camera footage taken early on Sunday morning.
“Even the smallest detail could make a difference,” they added in a statement.
