Inter-school meet gets underway, Tribune School log win in football

Tribune School, Sector 29, posted a stunning 6-0 win over SD School, Sector 24, on the opening day of inter-school football tournament for boys’ U-14 category.

Askshit (2nd, 25th), Mayank (4th, 30th) and Amritpal (10th, 35th) scored for the Sector 29 team. DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, lads posted a 4-2 win over Divya Public School, Sector 44. Sehajpreet (5th, 35th), Naman (15th) and Harsh Singh (25th) scored for the winning side, while Arsad Khan (8th) and Raman (30th) pulled off two for the Sector 44 team. Uday (10th, 20th, 35th) scored three goals and Arjun (20th) netted one to help Saupin’s School, Sector 32, defeat St Kabir School, Sector 27, by a margin of four goals.

In the girls’ U-14 event, the team of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, posted a 2-0 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 10. GMSSS, Dhanas, eves posted a 6-0 win over GMSSS, Sector 23. Government Model High School (GMHS), Dhanas, defeated GMSSS-10 by a solitary goal.

Bhavan cagers log win

Bhavan Vidalaya recorded an 18-8 win over Banyan Tree, Sector 48, during the interschool basketball tournament for the girls’ U-14 age group. Maayra scored majority of the points for the winning side, while Navya remained the top performer for the Sector 48 team. Saupin’s School posted a 29-4 win over Kulwant Rai School, Sector 43. Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, defeated Ashiana School, Sector 46, with a 20-2 verdict.

Chitkara International School, Sector 25, recorded a 33-14 win over DAV School, Sector 8, during the inter-school basketball tournament for boys’ U-14, at the Sector 42 Sports Complex. St John’s School, Sector 26, defeated Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30, 22-6. Saupin’s School, Sector 32, posted a 38-6 win over Kids-R-Kids School, Sector 42. In the last match, St Mary School, Sector 46, stunned Kulwant Rai School, Sector 43, with a 28-4 score.

DPS paddlers in final

The boys’ U-14 team of Delhi Public School marched into the final of the inter-school table tennis tournament for boys’ U-14 category. In the semifinal, the Sector 40 outfit posted a 3-2 win over Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26. In the second semi, Gurukul Global logged a 3-1 win over St Joseph’s School, Sector 44.
