This time there are more bank holidays in the month of August. If you add local and national festivals like Independence Day, Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi as well as regular holidays on Saturday and Sunday, then banks will remain closed for about half a month in many states. Therefore, customers are advised to complete their important bank related work in time so that any kind of trouble can be avoided.

August 3 (Sunday) – Tripura: Banks closed due to Ker Puja

8 August (Friday) – Sikkim, Odisha: Tendong Lo Rum Phat

9 August (Saturday) – Uttarakhand, UP, Haryana, MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan: Rakshabandhan

13 August (Wednesday) – Manipur: Patriotism Day

15 August (Friday) – Independence Day across the country

16 August (Saturday) – Janmashtami across India

16 August (Saturday) – Gujarat, Maharashtra: Parsi New Year

26 August (Tuesday) – Karnataka, Kerala: Ganesh Chaturthi

27 August (Wednesday) – Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana: Ganesh Chaturthi (second day)

28 August (Thursday) – Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim: Nuakhai

Apart from this, the general second and fourth Saturdays i.e. 10 and 23 August and every Sunday i.e. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 August will also be observed in all states Banks will remain closed.

Therefore, customers are advised to complete their important banking work in the beginning of August.
