Central Railway organised a Heritage exhibition as part of Station Mahotsav at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on 16.07.2025
The highlight of the exhibition was a miniature replica of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus heritage building with colour lightings along with miniature models of Steam Locomotives, Wooden Coaches of the GIPR era.
The exhibition also displayed various artefacts belonging to the GIPR era including Brass bells, Brass badges of Railway workers, Old Lamp Posts, Heritage wooden chairs, Coat & Umbrella stand, Heritage Pendulam Clocks, Iron Box used for Railway Cash earnings, Hand Signal Lamps, Ball & Token Machine (once used at stations) and displayed Charts, Content and Photographs with information about Railways’ progress over the years.
In addition to the Old, the exhibition also displayed a model of the Vande Bharat Trains in service presently and a model of the Bullet Train expected to be operational in the near future. Visitors to the exhibition were also taken on a virtual tour of CSMT with VR Occulus glasses offering a 360 degree visual.
The exhibition was a trip down memory lane with hundreds of visitors including Students, Office going people, Professionals, Heritage enthusiasts, Rail Fans and passengers having come to board long distance trains.
