Central Railway's GM inspects The Signal and Telecom Training Institute, Byculla- Inaugurates new hostel for trainees

Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway inspected The Signal and Telecom Training Institute, Byculla and inaugurated the newly constructed Jaigad Hostel for trainees on July 23, 2025.

The Jaigad Hostel with 36 rooms has a capacity to accommodate 144 trainees. It has a Gym, Recreation room, Dining room and Wi-Fi facility.

The Signal & Telecom Training Institute, Byculla which is part of the Signal & Telecom Workshop Byculla, imparts training to about 1500 trainees on an average every year from two Zones, viz. Central Railway & West Central Railway. Set up in 1968, the Institute conducts more than 100 courses every year for Artisans and Engineers which include Initial Apprentice Course, Foundation Course, Refresher Course, Special Equipment Course and KAVACH training.

Maninder Uppal, Principal Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer, Amrendra Singh, Chief Workshop Manager, Signal & Telecom Workshop Byculla, Principal Head of Departments, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division and Other Senior Officers of Central Railway were also present during the inspection.
