Lineman dies of electric shock in Sirsa

A 42-year-old lineman working with the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam died after getting an electric shock in the Kalanwali area of Dabwali, Sirsa district. The man, identified as Gurvinder Singh from Dabwali village, was fixing a power line between the villages of Khokhar and Asir when the incident took place.

The police said Gurvinder got an electric shock while working on the line and was seriously injured. Locals rushed him to a private hospital in Kalanwali. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to Sirsa, but he died on the way. Gurvinder was posted at Hassu village under the Pipli complaint centre. On Sunday, he was attending to a complaint when the accident took place. It is still unclear whether the electricity was properly turned off while he was working. The police are trying to find out whether Gurvinder started the work without switching off the power or if the electricity supply was restarted by someone while he was still working. Gurvinder is survived by his wife and two children. The police have started the investigation.
