In Parliament: Go and ask those who live near border, Harsimrat to MPs on ceasefire
New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, condemning remarks questioning the government’s decision to halt military action under “Operation Sindoor”. “I am shocked to hear that in this House there are MPs who said why was war stopped? What are we here for? Are we here to fight and demolish Pakistan or were we here to give them a beffiting answer? Ask this to those who live near the border,” Badal said. Highlighting the suffering of Punjab’s border residents, she said, “Our farmers were forced to destroy crops beyond the fencing, our poor were exposed to relentless shelling, military drones and fighter jets,” she said. ‘Common man’s questions not answered’
Chandigarh/New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha Member from Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, on Tuesday said that in the “long speeches” of the Defence Minister and the Home Minister, they did not even answer any of the questions raised by the common people of the country on Operation Sindoor. Raising the issue of a “failed foreign policy” during the war, he said the rest of the country saw the war situation on social media or TV, but the people of the border state of Punjab lived every day under the shadow of drone attacks, sirens and blackouts.
