IIT Bombay Launches JAM 2026 Portal At jam2026.iitb.ac.in; Registration To Begin On September 5
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay), the conducting institute of JAM 2026 (Joint Admission Test for Masters), has launched the exam's official website -- jam2026.iitb.ac.in. The JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) will open for registrations from September 5, 2025.
What is JAM?
JAM (Joint Admission Test for Master's) is a national-level admission test that provides access to postgraduate science and interdisciplinary programs at various prestigious institutions in India. The test aims to foster academic merit and enable scientific research with direct bearing on real-world applications.
The language of instruction is English, and the test is accessible to candidates of all nationalities. JAM provides admission into the following courses:
-M.Sc.
-M.Sc. (Tech.)
-MS (Research)
-M.Sc. – M.Tech. Dual Degree
-Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D.
-M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree
-Integrated Ph.D. (I-PhD)
Participating Institute Types
JAM 2026 admissions are divided into two institute types:
Admitting Institutes – Coordinated by IIT Bombay. Candidates may apply to these institutes via the JAM 2026 admission portal following the qualification.
Result Sharing Institutes – Candidates will have to apply directly to the institutions following the qualification.
Eligibility Criteria
-Nationality: Open to all, including international candidates.
-Age Limit: No upper age limit.
-Education: Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have passed or will be giving the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2026.

Admit Card Release-- January 5, 2026
JAM 2026 Exam Date-- February 15, 2026
Result Declaration-- March 20, 2026
