At present, government banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Banks work normally on the remaining Saturdays. This rule was implemented in 2015. Government’s reply

The government replied that the IBA proposal is under consideration. It also said that every bank recruits staff according to its requirement. As of March 31, 2025, 96% of the posts are filled, the rest of the vacancies are due to common reasons like retirement or resignation.
