Janhit: From Pink City to Panic City, Jaipur Submerged, High Court Slams Government | ABP NEWS
Monsoon rains have once again exposed the fragile infrastructure of India’s top cities, turning urban dreams into flooded nightmares. From Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur to the high-tech corridors of Gurugram and Noida, even a few hours of rain were enough to bring daily life to a standstill. In Jaipur, roads turned into rivers, vehicles floated, and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had to inspect the waterlogged city himself. The Rajasthan High Court sharply criticized the city’s drainage system, warning that Jaipur is at risk of losing its "Pink City" heritage to unchecked urban chaos. Despite spending ₹60 crores annually on drainage, failure is repeated year after year. Meanwhile, Gurugram’s Subhash Chowk and several other key areas remained submerged, highlighting the failure of a city projected as India’s cyber hub. In Noida’s Eco Village-1, entire basements flooded, submerging cars. The scenes were no different in Sawai Madhopur, where highways and bridges were washed away, and the disaster management minister’s car itself broke down amid the flooding. As social media floods with videos of submerged cities, the question remains: when will urban India be truly rain-ready?
