Indore: Mayor Sets October 25 Deadline For Repair Of All City Roads

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Every Indorean or non-Indorean who walks or commute on city roads are fed up of potholes and waterlogged roads. The tattered roads have now become a big concern for the first citizen of Indore, mayor Pushiyamitra Bhargav also.

The mayor on Friday strongly and condignly ordered concerned officials of IMC to repair all roads by October 25. Bhargav held a high-level meeting on Friday with municipal officials, consultants and contractors to review the condition of roads across Indore.

In the meeting, the Mayor issued strict instructions to complete all road construction and patchwork in the city and surrounding areas.

The mayor informed that work has already begun on 23 major Master Plan roads under four separate packages and their progress was reviewed in detail.

Expressing displeasure over poor quality roads that have deteriorated due to rain, Mayor Bhargav ordered action against agencies responsible for their maintenance.

He emphasised that contractors who failed to carry out proper patchwork after construction would be held accountable and made to complete the work again.

The Mayor also warned of strict action against officials who approved building plans in violation of regulations on certain master plan roads. He directed the matter to be brought to the notice of the Commissioner for disciplinary action against those found guilty.

Mayor Bhargav instructed that information boards must be installed at all construction sites to inform citizens about the ongoing work and express apologies for any inconvenience caused.
