Stalin slams AIADMK-BJP alliance, accuses Edappadi Palaniswami of betraying Tamil people

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader M.K. Stalin charged the opposition AIADMK has betrayed the state by forming an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party. Stalin said even true AIADMK workers were unhappy with this decision.

 

In a letter to party cadres on the occasion of Karunanidhi's seventh death anniversary, Stalin charged the primary opposition in the state, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, has committed grave treachery against Tamil people by forging an alliance with the BJP. "True AIADMK workers are deeply disheartened by this, as the opposition leader, Edappadi Palaniswami, devoid of any fundamental principles, has gone to Delhi and bowed down to form an alliance with the BJP."

 

Stalin charged Palaniswami, who is currently campaigning across the state, is "spreading lies" against the DMK government. "Carrying the unforgivable burden of aligning with an incompatible partner, he is now traveling from place to place, spreading lies in his campaigns. The AIADMK, as the opposition party, is silently submitting and acting as a subservient servant to the BJP," the DMK leader said.

 

The key INDIA bloc leader said during its four-year tenure, each day was a fight for state rights. "In non-BJP ruled states and where the party had no chance of capturing power, the BJP was engaging in activities against the elected governments through governors, and it was the DMK government which undertook a legal battle and succeeded over the issue of governor approving state bills," he said.
