Federation of Industries urges Govt to restore Single Window System

JAMMU, Aug 7: The Federation of Industries, Jammu (FOIJ) has sought attention of the Govt of Jammu & Kashmir towards the set back to Industries in the Union Territory due to non-functional status of Single Window System for the last two and half months.
The Single Window System was launched in February, 2022 to facilitate Ease of Doing Business in Jammu and Kashmir. However, its non-functional status causing delay in renewal of Licenses which is hampering business operations and causing undue hardships to industrial units. Furthermore, Industries are struggling to comply with regulatory requirements due to the system’s down time. New registrations and approvals are being delayed affecting business growth and investment in the region.
The Chairman, FOIJ, Virendra Jain has requested to the Govt of Jammu & Kashmir to allow acceptance of Govt Treasury Receipts for payment of fees and dues and also physical filing of documents and applications and processing thereof to facilitate compliance and avoid further delays untill the Single Window System is fully restored.
“The non-functional Single Window System is a significant setback for our industries. We urge the Govt to resolve this issue on priority and ensure the system’s functionality to facilitate Ease of Doing Business in Jammu & Kashmir. In the meantime, allowing Govt Treasury receipts and physical filing of documents will provide much needed relief to industries,” he said.
The Chairman, FOIJ has requested the Govt of Jammu & Kashmir to take immediate action to restore the Single Window System and ensure its functionality to avoid further disruptions to businesses in the region.
