Varanasi: IIVR’s vegetable-based farming model boosts farmers’ income

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research's vegetable-based Integrated Farming System (IFS) model, supported by UPCAR, Lucknow, is significantly improving farmers' livelihoods. Integrating aquatic vegetable production, livestock rearing, and vermicomposting, the model generates substantial annual income, up to ₹6.5 per ₹1 invested per acre. UPCAR's Director General suggests replicating the model across Uttar Pradesh through cluster-based training programs.
