CBSE School Leave Policy: Big News! CBSE has made very strict rules for attendance, see new circulars here

CBSE School Leave Policy News in Hindi: CBSE is making the rules of leave in schools very strict. This has been explained in detail in 5 points in the new circular. This can also affect the 2026 board exams.

CBSE School Leave Policy: What is the problem if we take a leave of two-four days from school? We will make some excuse. If you are also among those who say or do this, then wait a bit. Read this news carefully. Because doing this now can cause great harm. CBSE Board has issued a new notice regarding attendance and leave policy. In this document uploaded on the official website cbse.gov.in, 5 important rules have been mentioned for schools, students and parents.

What is the attendance policy of CBSE?

Before the rule of holidays, understand the rule of 75% attendance of CBSE. This is already in force. Mentioning this in this new notice also, the board has written – ‘According to Rule 13 and 14 of CBSE Examination Bylaws, the attendance of the student in school should not be less than 75% to appear in the board examination of class 10th and 12th. The board gives exemption of only 25% absence, that too with some conditions.’

What is CBSE’s rule for school leave?

The board has explained the whole thing in 5 points. Here every point is explained in the same way-

1. Information to students and parents

This is for schools. Schools have to inform all students and parents about CBSE’s 75 percent attendance policy. They also have to inform about the loss caused by not fulfilling it.

2. Leave procedure

In case of medical emergency, students have to submit leave application along with valid medical documents immediately after returning from leave. Even if they have taken leave for other reasons, students have to inform the school about it in writing, that too with a valid reason. If CBSE finds during inspection that the students are absent without any proper leave record, then the board will assume that they are not attending school regularly and they can be treated as dummy candidates. CBSE will not allow such students to appear in the board examination.

3. Monitoring of attendance

Schools must maintain a proper record of the attendance of their students and keep a constant watch on it. The attendance register must be updated daily. It must be signed by the class teacher and the concerned officer.

4. Communication with parents

If a student does not come to school often or does not complete the required attendance, then the school will have to inform the parents about it in writing. This information will have to be sent through registered, speed post or email. A record of this communication will also have to be kept.

5. CBSE inspection

The Central Board of Secondary Education can conduct a surprise inspection anytime to check the attendance record of students in schools. If at that time the records are found incomplete or it is found that students are not coming to school regularly, then the board will take strict action. The recognition of the schools can also be cancelled. At the same time, students can also be excluded from the board exam.
