Miraculous escape as cobra shares mosquito net with sleeping man

Baripada: In a scene straight out of a thriller, a venomous cobra—nearly eight feet long—coiled itself inside a mosquito net, spending the entire night inches from a man’s head. The spine-tingling incident unfolded in Pratappur village, on the outskirts of Baripada town, Mayurbhanj district, leaving locals in shock.

According to eyewitnesses, the man slept peacefully, oblivious to the deadly guest curled beside him. At dawn, family members spotted the lethal predator and panic erupted. Miraculously, the cobra never struck, despite hours of close contact.

On being informed, a trained rescuer from Snake Helpline, arrived in minutes. With expert precision, he safely extracted the cobra before releasing it deep into the forest—a testament to wildlife conservation rules. The house owner, still shaken, recalled, “I woke up to find the snake inches away. We called the rescue team instantly. The cobra was taken away unharmed— so were we.” Villagers now speak of divine intervention, calling the incident “a night of miracles”—where man and serpent shared a bed, yet both walked away alive.
