Miyadian joins Akali Dal Waris Punjab with supporters
Daljit Singh Miyadian, a political leader from the Rajasansi constituency and Director of the Punjab Dairy Development Board, resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday and joined Akali Dal Waris Punjab along with hundreds of his supporters. The announcement was made at a press conference led by Tarsem Singh, father of jailed Member of Parliament Amritpal Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Tarsem Singh said that the “conscious and Panth-oriented section of Punjab” is now aligning with forces committed to Sikh values and the welfare of the people. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party of working against Punjab’s interests, citing its approval of agreements that compromise the state’s water rights and its failure to deliver on key promises.
Daljit Singh Miyadian stated that he and his colleagues were disillusioned with AAP’s “anti-Panth and anti-Punjab” stance. He alleged that the party had been targeting Sikh individuals through fabricated cases and had betrayed the Sikh community for political gain.
Several senior leaders of Akali Dal Waris Punjab, including Paramjit Singh Johal, Amarjit Singh Wanchiri, Daya Singh, Sukhbir Singh Valtoha, Shamsher Singh Padhri, Jugraj Singh and Mahinderpal Singh Tung, were also present at the event.
