A new update has emerged in the Madhya Pradesh poisonous cough syrup case. Accused Ranganathan Govindan, who was arrested yesterday in Chennai and was preparing to flee abroad, will be presented in the Chhindwara court today. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case today regarding the deaths caused by the poisonous cough syrup. Twenty-three children have died in Madhya Pradesh and three in Rajasthan. With the death of another child in Chhindwara, the death toll has risen to 21, while the overall death toll has reached 24. The petitioner has demanded a CBI investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, political activity is raging within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over seat-sharing. Jitan Ram Manjhi has expressed his displeasure and appealed for protection from humiliation. The BJP has stated that all parties have the right to claim more seats and will remain with the NDA. Meanwhile, a positive one-hour meeting was held in Delhi between BJP leaders Nityanand Rai and Chirag Paswan, where seat-sharing was discussed. Both leaders declared the meeting successful.
