Good news for Passengers from Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Bahadurgarh, Delhi metro’s new route on THIS line from Diwali, to create India’s first ring metro

Good news for Delhi Metro passengers! The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has finished the safety inspection and approved the start of operations  of Delhi Metro’s phase IV. The services were earlier planned to begin during the first Navratri, but that couldn’t happen. Now, the metro on this route is likely to start running around Diwali. People are eagerly waiting for the opening of the Pink Line extension from Majlis Park to Maujpur. Once it starts, this new stretch will make travel much easier and help thousands of daily commuters by improving connectivity across many parts of Delhi.

The CMRS has already given the safety clearance after a detailed inspection. Although the opening was delayed, all eyes are now on DMRC to announce the official inauguration date soon. Once operational it will provide seamless connectivity between the north, south, east, and west areas of Delhi. Passengers from Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Bahadurgarh will also find it easier to travel within NCR.

So far, the DMRC has operationalized metro train services (on Phase 4 corridor) only between Janakpuri West and Krishna Park Extension. The 2.8-km-long stretch is a part of the DMRC’s Magenta Line Extension. The extension of the Pink Line, which originates from Shivpur, will make it one of the longest stretches in its network at 71.15 km.

At present, the Pink Line runs between Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar, covering about 59.24 km. With the new Majlis Park–Maujpur section ready, the line will now form a complete circle. Because of this, DMRC has renamed it the Pink Circular Line. A total of eight stations will be there. These are – Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur Village, Soorghat, Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, and Yamuna Vihar.

Delhi Metro’s Phase IV priority corridors

Delhi Metro’s Phase IV includes three key priority corridors: Majlis Park to Maujpur, Krishna Park Extension to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, and Delhi Aerocity to Tughlakabad.

Out of these, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) plans to open two corridors i.e. Majlis Park to Maujpur and Krishna Park Extension to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg in phases and section by section within this year.

A senior DMRC official confirmed this to ETNOW.in, saying that work on both the Pink Line and Magenta Line is moving forward smoothly. “It’s difficult to say exactly which sections will open first, but it will definitely be from these lines,” the official said.
