Every year, Diwali falls during this autumn season. Diwali means light, love, and lots of good food. From bursting crackers to enjoying delicious delicacies, Diwali is a festival that everyone looks forward to.
Though sweets are a mandate during Diwali, have you ever heard about a fusion dish called ‘Ghewar Chaat’? While this may boggle one’s mind, it is indeed a dish to devour.

What is Ghewar Chaat
Ghewar Chaat is a fusion of festive Rajasthani tradition and modern flair—mini ghewar shells topped with creamy ricotta and spiced jalapeños, served as a luxurious canapé or plated chaat.
Ingredients
- Prepared ghewar shells (unsweetened) – 4 pieces
- Fresh ricotta cheese – 1 cup
- Pickled jalapeños – 10 gms
- Hung curd – 2 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Black pepper – ½ tsp
- Chaat masala – ½ tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Microgreens or coriander sprigs – for garnish
- Boondi – 20 gms
- Nylon sev – 10 gms
- Smoked chili oil – ½ tsp
- Pomegranate pearls – for texture and color
Instructions
1. Prepare Ricotta Cream
- In a bowl, whisk ricotta until smooth and creamy.
- Add hung curd, salt, pepper, chaat masala, and lemon juice.
- Mix until light and airy. Transfer to a piping bag or use a spoon for dolloping.

- Place mini ghewar shells on a serving platter.
- Pipe or spoon a dollop of ricotta cream into the center of each shell.
- Top with a sprinkle of chopped jalapeños.
- Drizzle smoked chili oil over the top.
- Garnish with microgreens or coriander leaves.
- Add pomegranate pearls for a burst of sweetness.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
