‘Politics over peace…’: White House reacts after Trump denied Nobel Peace Prize, says Nobel Committee proved…
Nobel Peace Prize 2025: In its first reaction after US President Donald Trump was denied the Nobel Peace Prize 2025, the White House lambasted the Nobel Committee, alleging it had placed “politics over peace”, but Trump will “continue ending wars and saving lives”.
“Once again, the Nobel Committee has proved they place politics over peace. President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will,” White House spokesperson Steven Cheung wrote on X.
On Friday, the Nobel Committee announced Venezuelan pro-democracy activist and opposition leader Maria Corina Machado as the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, ending Donald Trump’s aspirations for the prestigious award. The US President had vehemently campaigned for the Nobel Peace Prize since assuming office for his second presidential term.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that he ended seven wars so far in his second term, and asserted that not awarding him the peace prize would amount to an ‘insult’ to America.
