ChatGPT will now allow UPI payments, making shopping a breeze.

Now ChatGPT won’t just answer your questions and generate images, it can also be used for shopping and UPI payments.

The use of ChatGPT in daily life is steadily increasing. Now, this AI chatbot will also be able to make UPI payments. To achieve this, OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, has partnered with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and fintech company Razorpay. This is the first attempt in India to integrate a real-time payment network with an AI chatbot. With its help, users will be able to complete their shopping directly from the chat interface. Let’s explore how this entire process will work.

The facility has just started on a pilot basis.

This partnership was announced on October 9th and is currently in a pilot phase. During this phase, OpenAI will test how AI agents can perform transactions in a secure, fast, and user-controlled manner. This is currently in the testing phase, and if the trial is successful, it could be implemented on a larger scale. Currently, only selected users are able to use it on a few platforms.

You can make payments on BigBasket using ChatGPT

Tata Group’s e-commerce platform BigBasket is one of the first services to allow users to make payments using ChatGPT. Axis Bank and Airtel Payments Bank are banking partners in this pilot.

UPI is the most popular payment method.

UPI is the most popular method of digital payment in India, processing over 20 billion transactions each month. Approximately 80 percent of online transactions are conducted through UPI. It’s worth noting that NPCI recently launched a new system that eliminates the need for a PIN for UPI payments. Users will also be able to make payments using fingerprint or Face ID.
