Mollywood News Update: Actor Antony Varghese suffers major accident during elephant fight sequence for 'Kattalan'

Actor Antony Varghese has suffered a major accident on the sets of his upcoming film in Thailand. Better known as 'Pepe', the actor has suffered a hand fracture during the shoot of his upcoming film Kattalan directed by Paul George.
The incident happened in Thailand while filming a high-intensity fight sequence involving an elephant. Pepe, known for his proficiency in raw action sequences, ended up injuring his hand severely during the shoot. Instantly, the schedule was halted and the actor is currently under rehabilitiation.
The ongoing schedule of Kattalan has been paused with an update on resumption expected soon. As of now, the shoot has been indefinitely postponed with Pepe's recovery being the obvious priority for the crew. Kattalan is being bankrolled by Cubes Entertainment who made their production debut with Unni Mukundan's blockbuster Marco.
Apart from Pepe, Kattalan has a promising case with veterans Siddique and Jagadish playing key roles alongside popular Telugu actor Sunil. Rajisha Vijayan is essaying the female lead in this ambitious project. While the film is being made in Malayalam, it shall have dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Ajaneesh Loknath, best known for Kirik Party and the Kantara series, is handling the music department for Kattalan that is a high-octane action thriller set in a forest backdrop. Initially slated for a October 31 release, that date is understandably now delayed and the makers will announce a new date in due course.
If Kattalan does release this year, it will be Pepe's second release of 2025 after the boxing flick Daveed.
