How White House reacted to Nobel Committee overlooking Donald Trump for peace prize

After the Nobel Committee overlooked US President Donald Trump and chose Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado for the peace prize, White House slammed the committee, claiming that it placed politics over peace.
While Trump had aggressively campaigned for the peace prize and even received a number of nominations for the prestigious award, the Norwegian Nobel Committee chose to overlook these and opt for Maria Corina Machado to honour "her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy."
According to House spokesperson Steven Cheung, Trump has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him.
"President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will," he said in X post, and added that the Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace.
Trump had often spoken about his desire to win the prestigious prize. While there have been such statements from him during both his terms, these were particularly strong in the recent times as he had been claiming credit for ending conflicts around the world.
However, he had also expressed reservations that the Nobel Committee would ever grant him the peace prize.
Trump, those who recommended his name for the prize, and his supporters are likely to view the decision as a deliberate affront to the US president.
