Naveen Returns to Odisha from Delhi

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik returned to Bhubaneswar on Friday after spending nearly a month in Delhi.

The BJD supremo received a warm welcome from the party supporters and well-wishers at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.

Acting on Naveen Patnaik’s directive, the BJD has launched a state-wide Jan Sampark Padayatra from October 9, beginning at Suando in Puri district — coinciding with the birth anniversary of Utkalamani Pandit Gopabandhu Das.

The month-long outreach campaign aims to highlight the alleged failures of the Mohan Charan Majhi-led government.

According to the party, the Padayatra will raise public awareness on issues such as unfulfilled promises, rising atrocities against women, deteriorating law and order, attacks on democratic and constitutional institutions, neglect of farmers, and growing unemployment.

The BJD also plans to draw attention to problems faced by students, inflation, and alleged discrimination against SC-ST communities, backward classes, and minorities.

The campaign will also showcase the pro-people initiatives implemented by the BJD government over the years and carry Naveen Patnaik’s message directly to the people across Odisha, the BJD added.
