‘Muslim population in India rising…’: Amit Shah explains, says our country will become a dharamshala if…
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, October 10, made a significant statement regarding the Muslim population in the country. Shah stated that the Muslim population in the country was increasing due to infiltration from Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Hindu population vs Muslim population
The Union Minister stated that the Muslim population in the country has increased by 24.6 per cent, while the Hindu population has decreased by 4.5 per cent. He said, “I am telling you this because it is not due to the fertility rate; it is due to infiltration.”
Division of India
Emphasizing that India was divided due to religion, Shah said that Pakistan was created on both sides of India, and infiltration from both sides resulted in such a change in the population. Speaking at an event in Delhi, Shah said that the right to vote in the country should be available only to citizens.
Shah on SIR
Shah said that the SIR should not be viewed from a political perspective on infiltration and the Election Commission’s exercise. He stressed that this is a national issue. The Home Minister said that Congress has gone into “denial mode” on the SIR issue, adding that this process also occurred during the opposition party’s government.
Opposition’s vote bank being eroded: Shah
He said that the opposition is adopting a policy of protest because their vote bank is being eroded. It is the constitutional responsibility of the Election Commission to correct discrepancies in the voter list. If you have a problem, you can go to court. He said that free and fair elections cannot be held unless the voter list meets the definition of a voter, which means being an Indian citizen and having attained the prescribed age.
Difference between an infiltrator and a refugee
The Union Home Minister underlined the difference between an infiltrator and a refugee. He said that a refugee comes to India to save his or her religion, while an infiltrator crosses the border illegally for economic or other reasons, not due to religious persecution.
He asked, “Who are infiltrators?”
These are people who haven’t faced religious persecution and who want to come to India illegally for economic or other reasons; they are considered infiltrators. If anyone in the world who wants to come here is allowed to do so, our country will become a dharamshala.
