78 new dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 10: Seventy eight fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu division on Thursday, taking the total number of infections this year to 1,651.
As many as 363 tests were conducted on October 9. Of the new cases, 41 are males and 37 females, including 11 children and 67 adults. Udhampur district reported highest 28 cases, raising its total to 196. Jammu followed with 27 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 701. Kathua recorded 12 cases taking its total cases to 464. Reasi reported 4 new infections, Samba 2 while Poonch, Doda and Kishtwar detected one case each. Two cases were also reported from other states/UT.

So far, 17,504 dengue tests have been conducted this year—slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, and total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 2,713 cases.
Hospital data shows no new admissions today while six patients are still under treatment.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
